南極上空のオゾンホールがなくなった

欧州宇宙機関(ESA)は、南極上空のオゾンホールが消えたと発表した。同データは、2017年11月の大気の調査中に、ESAの地球観測衛星センチネル 5プリカーサーが入手したもの。

ESAは、南極の半分を覆うオゾンホールが昨年11月26日までに消えたとみられる画像も公開した。

再びオゾンホールが形成されることはないのか?それはまだわからない。これはパブリックドメインに置かれたESAの一次情報にすぎない。

オゾン層は太陽からの有害な紫外線から地球を守っているため、南極上空のオゾンホールは地球生態系に対する深刻な脅威の一つとなっている。
