川が氾濫して浸水被害が出ている岩手県では、高齢者グループホームで9人の遺体が見つかった。目撃者情報によると、川の水位は短時間で約6メートルに達した。川岸でも男性1人の遺体が見つかった。
また久慈市では、住宅のがれきの中から女性の遺体が見つかった。北海道では3人の行方が分からなくなっている。
