ルクソール古跡センターのムスタファ・ワジリー氏は「この墓は、高貴な人物の典型的な埋葬場所だ。墓はT字型に似ていて、正方形のホール、内部のホール、そして廊下で構成されている。見たところ、エジプト新王国最後の時代の町の統治者ウ・サルハトのものではないかと思われる」と述べた。
ネクロポリス東部に位置するこの墓の入り口が見つかったのは今年3月。エジプト学者らは、墓は第18王朝時代につくられたが、後に第21王朝時代の高官らを埋葬するために使用されたとの見方を示しており、研究者たちはその石棺がこの墓の内部で見つかることに期待しているが、墓への入り口はまだ開けられていないという。

考古学者らによると、墓から保存状態の良い複数の色鮮やかな木製の箱、大量の埋葬用マスク、死後の世界で死者の代わりに労働してくれるという人形「ウシャブティ」数百体、多くの陶器が見つかった。
古代エジプト第18王朝(紀元前1550-1292年頃)は、最も有名な王朝の一つと考えられており、ツタンカーメン、ハトシェプスト女王、宗教改革者アクエンアテンなどがいる。
