５５歳以上の女性のためのコンテスト会場となったのは、天津ウォーターパーク。デイリー・メール紙によると、コンテストは３年連続で開かれている。
７８歳のマー・ジンさんは「私のような年齢でビキニコンテストへ参加することは、私幸福で健康であることの証拠です」と語った。ジンさんは、がんを克服したという。
またコンテストでは、水着審査の他に、ダンスや中国の民族衣装の審査も行われた。
