同自治区の居住地域では雨が８月１２日から降り続いており、１万１０００人以上の住民が安全な場所への避難を余儀なくされている。
この豪雨は建物に甚大な被害をもたらしたほか、複数の居住地域では電力供給にも障害が生じている。

先の報道によると、中国北部内モンゴル自治区で起きた竜巻により１１日、少なくとも５人が死亡し、５０人がけがをした。
