だが金氏のそっくりさんは最後まで試合を観戦することができなかった。同氏は北朝鮮応援団の前に立ち、手を振って挨拶しようとして警備員に連れ出され、警察に引き渡された。
「ハワード」という名の金正恩氏のそっくりさんは、取り押さえられたことに不満を表し「僕が攻撃的な行動をしたというのか?ただ試合を観戦したかっただけなのに何の問題があるのか?僕の顔が気に入らなかったとしても、どうすることもできない。僕はこの顔に生まれたんだから」と述べた。
「ハワード」とは誰なのか?
ハワードさんの年齢は37歳、香港で暮らしているが、オーストラリアの出身。金正恩氏が政権の座に就いた時、友人や知り合いから金氏によく似ていると言われるようになり、金氏のそっくりさんになることを決めたという。
ハワードさんは「すべてが始まったのは2013年の4月1日。ジョークとしてね。ネットに金正恩氏の姿をして彼と同じ髪形をした写真を数枚投稿したんだ… 2週間後にイスラエルから電話でハンバーガーのコマーシャルの撮影依頼があった」と語った。
これがハワード氏のテレビ初登場。
ハワードさんと金正恩氏本人との違いは、外国への「公式」訪問数だ。ハワードさんは金氏よりはるかに多くの国を訪れている。ハワードさんは国の指導者がいるべき場所によく姿を現す。リオ五輪や、5月9日のモスクワでの軍事パレードにも現れた。なお軍事パレードには本物の金氏が招待されていたが、同氏はモスクワを訪れなかった。
ハワードさんは現在テレビ、コマーシャル、ミュージックビデオなどに頻繁に出演している。
