中国国防省のサイトで発表された声明では「空軍は近いうちにH-6KやSu-30を含む様々なタイプの軍用機を派遣する。軍用機は宮古海峡上空を通過し、西太平洋で軍事演習を開始する」と述べられている。
また軍用機は南シナ海上空を通過して共同パトロールも行う。
