同サイトの情報では、このような伝達は有事の際、核兵器を使用した大規模攻撃の場合に行われるという。このような連絡を受けた後、軍人らは熱核弾頭が装備された巡航ミサイル「AGM-86 ALCM」20発を指定された複数の目標に向け発射するよう、義務付けられている。
「Drive」は傍受された信号について、B52やB2スピリットといった爆撃機とE6マーキュリーが参加していた訓練の一環として出されたものであると伝えている。
このような措置は米国の敵に対し、熱核弾頭を世界全体に到達させる爆撃機部隊の準備体制を示すことが目的だと、記者らは強調している。
