米空軍は大統領のために特別装備のボーイング747-8型機を2機購入する。７４７シリーズは大統領専用機として１９９０年から使用されている。
新たな大統領専用機では、外装が赤、白、青となる。なおこれまでは、５５年前にジャッキー・ケネディ 大統領夫人が選んだ「白、青、水色」で塗装されていた。トランプ大統領はこれを好まず、「より米国らしい」星条旗の色に完全に一致させることを望んでいる。
