ロサンゼルスの西で昨日始まった火災は南へ被害を拡大し、サンタモニカ市に近づいている。マリブの人口はハリウッドスターを含めて１万５千人以下だ。
森林火災はすでに、サンフランシスコから北東２９０キロに位置するパラダイス市を滅ぼした。パラダイス市に住んでいたおよそ２万７千人は、町が炎に囲まれていたにも関わらず、全員が避難に成功した。
現地時間午後８時時点で森林火災は７３平方キロメートルを燃やした。火災の局地化はまだ成功していない。
