東京の外務省前では3日午後から、日本に暮らすミャンマーの人々が集まり、同国軍のクーデターに抗議する集会が行われている。およそ3千人が集まっているとみられている。

ミャンマーで起きた軍事クーデターに対しての抗議
参加者の1人は取材に対し「ミャンマーに残してきた家族と電話がつながり辛くなり、いつ連絡が取れなくなるか不安」と話す。
今回の集会を呼びかけたグループは、日本政府に対し、ミャンマーの民主主義を取り戻すために働きかけて欲しいと訴えている。グループ代表らは日本外務省に入り、申し入れをしたという。
また参加者らは、ミャンマーにある日本企業も撤退を検討して欲しい、と語った。
