2021年は観測史上7番目に温暖

欧州の気象情報機関「コペルニクス気候変動サービス」の報告によれば、2021年は大気中のCO2とメタンの濃度の上昇を受けて観測史上7番目に温暖な年となった。
コペルニクス気候変動サービスによると、2021年の年平均気温は1991-2020年の基準値より0.3度、1850-1900年の産業革命前レベルより1.1度から1.2度高かった。また2015年から2021年の7年間では、2016年と2020年が記録的な暖かさとなっており、その差は歴然としている。

大気中のCO2の平均濃度は414ppmに、またメタン濃度も1869ppmの記録的数値に達した。森林火災による二酸化炭素の放出量は2021年は地球全体で1850メガトンと、前年2020年の1750メガトンを上回った。
